This is a fine action flick to pass the time, but not a top contender by any means. The opening starts out decidedly serious to try and set a clear mood, though ends up being just as manufactured and prolonged as the rest of the venture. Besides evey action being miserably drawn out, including the plot as a whole, there are many obvious blunders that amount to a seemingly dull minded character. Id-est, opting for an axe over the plethora of firearms littered about does not make the protagonist more heroic. And as others have stated, the ending is top notch ridiculous.

Braven is a competent action movie centered around a stand-off that overextends itself trying to create drama and elicit emotion.

Esta bien. Entretenida, con personajes muy básicos y creo que la trama pudo ser mucho mejor con un villano más memorable y el protagonista un poco más inteligente, aún así está bien para pasar el rato.

Momoa gets a chance to demonstrate his exceptional hatchet throwing abilities in this otherwise unremarkable action movie. But it’s unfortunate that he isn’t able to do likewise with his acting skills! For example, he tries too hard to show his sensitive, emotional side in a few sentimental scenes with his family but, he simply doesn’t have the chops to winningly pull it off. What his fans really want to see is him busting bad guy’s heads in action scenes but, a few inept (apart from the hatchet-throwing thing) performances in a couple lackluster fight sequences are included to show, I suppose, that he’s human. The protracted ending, including a ridiculous scene involving a rope and a bear trap, is simply laughable.

Braven" was a major disappointment. The night scenes are so poorly lit that, even with perfect 20/20 vision, I couldn’t make out what was happening. Despite Jason Momoa and Stephen Lang being talented actors, this feels like a B-grade movie. The plot is tired and overused, beaten into irrelevance at this point. I couldn’t sit through more than the first 10 minutes. Honestly, it’s not even worth the time to watch the trailer

There is still about 40 seconds left on the runtime of this movie and all I could think about was how many people had given positive reviews for it. So, I decided to get here ASAP to make sure one more voice was heard going against that. What an absolute pile this movie was.

This was a really fun movie. Fun action scenes and the ending was fun. 4*

Started out ok. Then about halfway it just went downhill. The plot became more and more stupid. And by plot I mean killing of bad guys. 🤣

An surprisingly great survival thriller with strong direction by Lin Oeding (The Blacklist, Lifted) and a badass lead performance by Jason Momoa (Wolves, Road to Paloma)

A solid feel good action movie of family vs drug dealers set in a snowy wilderness. Momoa is solid, whom I previously enjoyed in the Frontier series.
