Bring Her Back
audience Reviews
, 79% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBring Her Back is a disturbing horror flick that kept me hooked the whole time. The story, the concept, the characters, and the execution are nothing short of amazing. Not only is the film harrowing in terms of story with its use of grief and loss to motivate the characters and drive the plot, but it is also visually tense using its atmosphere so effectively, you feel just as contained to the house as the characters are. If you loved Talk To Me, you're gonna love this film.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsIt is a very well done movie but overrated for sure. Also SO BORED with the cliche of using cats in horror to abuse them. How many times do we need to see same old, same old. Be creative.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsGenuinely unnerving horror. great performances from the child leads.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe ending was pretty predictable. The moment I saw Sally Hawkins on the screen, I knew that this film would end in her drowning. Hawkins' casting is foreshadowing & a callback to her role in The Shape Of Water. With that said the film is still pretty bloody disgusting with a tearjerker ending in the final scene.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars“Bring Her Back” is an unforgettable horror film made by the incessantly talented Philippou twins. Every element of this movie can easily be described as fascinating from the premise to the characters to the tone. Despite the unfortunately stop-short ending that fails to adequately fulfil the blood-curdling plot that sets it up as well as the unanswered questions leaving the theater with the audience, with how perpetually bland the horror genre has been for years, at this point, Bring Her Back is truly what horror fans have been waiting for and proves that amateur filmmakers are what Hollywood needs more of.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe fact we were comparing this to heredity shows it’s in a top tier league of horror
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhat a horrifying experience. I have not been this disturbed and stressed out since I watched talk to me. And I was not surprised to hear it was some of the same people working on this film. Absolutely incredible talent. All of the actors in this film made me feel a range of emotions. Each one impressive in their own way, but this is a horror film that I will recommend over and over again. Well done.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThis is a tough watch. While I can appreciate the story and the overall mental struggles of the main adult character. This gets pretty gruesome and mentally draining for not just the characters, but the audience. It seems they thought of things that generally make people uncomfortable and decided to exploit them for that sole reason. These type of horror movies have their place if done very well, but I am unsure that this one really is. It seems ultimately I like more campy scary movies I think.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI love it. It had everything. The horror, the thrilled and the gross of what the demon brought out. Felt bad for the little boy. It’s too bad the brother die. That was bit disappointing nevertheless it was great.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBring Her Back feels to pick up where Talk to Me left off, a continuation of a gut punch that, while welcomed, leaves you feeling emotionally spent. It may sound crazy but this feeling signifies the intensity and power that Michael and Danny Philippou have been able to consistently bring to their films. For two individuals who come off so funny and goofy, their films evoke such strong emotions that are completely opposite on the spectrum. Bring Her Back ensures within its first 10 minutes that the viewer knows this is a film heavily based in grief. Despite the heaviness of this subject matter, much of this film explores how the process of moving on from grief, how some are forces while others simply get stuck in the loss and cannot go forward. This film is shot well and maintains a bleak and ominous tone throughout. The performances are stellar and the storyline carries at a perfect pace. Bring Her Back is a phenomenal sophomore presentation and builds a high level of anticipation of what we will see next from them.
