Chaos Walking is a mediocre sci-fi adventure movie with a very miscast Daisy Ridley. Although there’s nothing wrong with Ridley’s performance itself, her chemistry and pairing with Tom Holland doesn’t sell well. Holland on the other hand, is well cast in a role that requires him to make dimwitted decisions, mumbling through the Noise. While the chemistry between the leads is lacking, the sci-fi elements themselves are even more lacking. What we end up with is a sort of sci-fi western and it isn’t very good at being a western either. In summation: the plot is a mess and leaves much to be desired from the Noise conceits. It’s not so much the film’s direction that fails, but the writing and casting that fails the film’s director. When all is said and done, this is just another wanna be apocalyptic tale of the Young Adult genre variety.

The movie that excites you in 1 hour and 49 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated PG-13 for Violence and Language.

The noise is an interesting concept, which is why I watched, but way too much 'agenda' nonsense to be enjoyable.

Sayang oras. Oks sana un concept ng kwento pero maraming butas magmula simula hanggang wakas. Sayang pwede pa naman syang maging successful young adult franchise gaya ng Hunger Games.

In "Chaos Walking," featuring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland, the initial excitement around the casting is palpable. With Ridley known for her role as Rey in "Star Wars" and Holland as Spider-Man from the Marvel universe, it seemed like a perfect pairing that would lead to an extraordinary film. However, the reality was far from that expectation, as the movie turned out to be a box office disappointment. As someone who wasn’t familiar with the source material—whether it be the books or video games—I walked into the theater hoping to grasp the story, but I left feeling just as lost as I was at the start. The plot was muddled, and it felt like the filmmakers struggled to effectively convey the narrative. Both Ridley and Holland appeared to be grappling with their roles, as if they were unsure of their characters' motivations and the overall direction of the film. This lack of clarity hindered their performances, making it difficult for the audience to connect with them. A film needs to engage and guide its viewers through the story, but "Chaos Walking" seemed to stray too far from its source material, leaving newcomers bewildered. Fans of the original story may have appreciated certain aspects, but for general audiences, the film lacked the storytelling necessary to draw them in. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity, with both the plot and the performances falling short of what could have been a captivating cinematic experience.

I would say its entertaining, I had a good time watching it for sure because the premise is so foreign and interesting. The issues presented have depth and the overall moral is very clear throughout the film but was never really finalised at the end. 21% seems pretty harsh but at the same time I get it, a story about a journey is told but just not really finished in any way even close to satisfying. The antagonist dies in a really uncharacteristic way and the main couple never actually kiss which is half-way funny and half-way "aw come on". I liked it, basically all the important actors are hot so thats a plus.

Mads and David Oyelowo were really imposing presences, and the father wasn't but the screen writing or maybe the original book really let their character's down as mustache twirlers. Hopefully the protagonists resonate with the middlegrade market, because I don't see anyone else finding them or the plot interesting.

Mildly entertaining, mostly held up by Holland's likability. The premise is lukewarm - that men's thoughts can be seen on this new world - but they just really didn't do anything with it from there. There was no big reveal, Holland's Todd is pretty dumb not to see what was the obvious plot twist from the beginning. The Spackle creatures could have added all kinds of dimension to this but instead get a 1 minute fight scene and then no more Spackle. It basically devolved into a space western, and not the good kind like Firefly.

I find it sad that those who get paid to assess movies could not see the layers in this one. The characters were multifaceted, the premise new and unusual, and Todd's fathers added another dimension to the story. Viola and Todd encountered enough danger to draw me into the risks they had to take while learning to trust each other as they made their way through lands neither of them had ever known. I enjoyed the 'noise' of the men's thoughts and the struggle to hide them. Very good movie! I will certainly watch it again and recommend it to family and friends.

You’d have to half brain dead to think this movie is good. Absolute rubbish. Painful, wanky, whoever wrote this should be ashamed. I couldn’t watch it through. Every time I see it listed on free TV, I cringe. Sorry Spider-Man, you sucked majorly in this 💩 movie.
