This movie is a personal disappointment for me, and here’s why: Several of my close family members perished or were affected by this disaster. One of them was my grandmother on my father’s side—her name was Frida. That’s why this is such a letdown. The movie focuses on such trivial and messed-up aspects that, as a viewer and as someone whose loved ones were directly impacted, I was genuinely offended. Even though I was born in 2001, I know more about the stories from that time than this stupid and boring movie portrays. In contrast, there’s an HBO series that I highly recommend watching. Unlike this movie, it actually tries to take a tragic event and explain it properly. This movie is an embarrassment—one that never should have existed.

Filme: Chernobyl: O Filme Assistido: Elenco: @akinshina_oksana @danilakozlovsky @rav_shana @feelavdeev Modelo: #drama #catastrofe #romance Duração: 2h 16m Ano: 2021 Minha opinião: Filmes como Pandora (coreano), Fukushima: Ameaça Nuclear. Roteiro e enredo bem elaborado. Vale apena assistir? sim Nota: 7

Worst movie ever. There is no time to look for a worse film on this topic.

The film recounts the events from a normal and apparently peaceful perspective of a common citizen of Chernobyl at that time, which highlights the innocence of the inhabitants of that town before the event and being totally oblivious to the government decisions that caused the catastrophe. Everything is well planned, the immersion in the time, the planes, the special effects, the frustration, the uncertainty and above all the political situation of the Soviet Union. This story is very similar to the HBO series in that it is based on the same events that, as far as I understand, happened that way. The whole film is a tragedy as it is based on the entire film.

a great adaptation from true event to movie. I know its hard to create these adaptations, trying to find the balance between reality and making something palatable for a series can be very difficult. Chernobyl accomplishes this without losing sight of the truth. Their presentation of the material is honest and open, and does not spend its time budget on needless dramatics to make its point. Honestly i am shocked how low this show is currently rated on Rotten Tomatoes by viewers, hence my need to write my first review on this website.

Filme tem um bom enredo , não espere comparar ele com a Série, talvez isso tenha desagradado há muitos , trata-se de um drama misturado com suspense ...

This film was made as a direct response to the HBO series "Chernobyl." It was touted as focusing more on the heroism and sacrifice of Chernobyl firefighters, plant workers, and liquidators, instead of that pesky Soviet silence the HBO series was so fixated on. The HBO series far surpasses any attempts at storytelling that the 2021 "Chernobyl" attempts to offer, including highlighting the heroism and sacrifice of so many brave people. The truth of Chernobyl is told only on the most superficial of levels in this film: there was an accident. A lot of people got sick. People cleaned it up. Radiation. Nothing of substance is truthful: not the way the fire was handled by the firefighters; not the members of the Chernobyl Commission; not the way that the liquidation was carried out; and certainly not the way that the Soviet government and nuclear industry made every liquidator's life harder by prioritizing the State's reputation over human life. Not one single real liquidator was mentioned in the film. Valery Legasov, Boris Shcherbina, General Antoshkin, General Tarakanov, Col. General Pikalov, Vasily Nesterenko, Alexander Borovoi, Nikolai Ryzhkov, Vladimir Dolgikh... none of these names are mentioned. I don't think any real names of firefighters or plant workers were used either. Kind of difficult to honor someone's sacrifice and heroism if you don't even put their names in the movie. Many who saw both versions preferred the HBO show because it demonstrated how the secrecy imposed by the Soviet government made their jobs at Chernobyl harder. Everyone has different tastes, but if you are looking for any kind of an even remotely accurate or truthful telling of the story of Chernobyl, you will not find it in the 2021 film. And for any hardliners who are going to say, "it's a movie it's not going to be completely accurate." I agree, but can't we make it even 1% accurate?

I would describe it as inaccurate and full of lies for historical events. He even represents that the medicine of that time cured the protagonist of radiation when he was exposed to the rector several times, but the son just by seeing the explosion almost died. History is full of nonsense.
