The historical story is true but the acting and telling of that story is just terrible. Maybe someday someone will tell this story without the soap opera hogwash.

Help people understand what Greeks had to endure under Ottoman/Turkish occupation

Beautiful movie! Could of done better if it wasn't limited on release. Very few select theaters, no dvd, no streaming! If more people can watch it, more people would enjoy it!

I truly enjoyed this film. It graphically showed some of the brutality I've heard from many years as a child studying Greek language and culture, but featured well acted romance and tension by the main characters, as well as some excellent historic costume and settings/cinematography. I would go to see it again in theater or on the small screen, ecommend it to those who like

Cliffs of freedom could’ve been a really good movie. On paper this movie sounds great and it could’ve been a great epic unfortunately the movie is just average. And that’s because of the movies budget. The movie has an excellent story but it’s hammered by cheap looking sets, stiff dialogue, some questionable acting, and pacing that could’ve been better. With a bigger budget and a better director I think this movie could’ve been really good. But as it is it feels more like a made for TV movie or direct to DVD movie then the big epic it was aiming for.

This is a historical period that is hardly ever covered in film. This feels fresh and original. I am a fan of historical period films and war films, and it is interesting to see the battles with a mixture of guns and swords.

I liked the film. It shows how wars start, how people go into them with excitement, thinking about "winning" and bravery and pride and revenge, and then learning neither is better than the other, both sides lose, no matter who wins.

Super movie highlighting the Greek struggle of independence against the Turkish barbarians invaders.

Good historical romance. Compelling actors. Great special effects.
