- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 stars**** off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsCombining the concepts that lead to Peter Pan's "Neverland" and Alice's "Wonderland" sounds like a promising idea. Maybe it could be like a "Pan's Labyrinth " or "Spirited Away", but let's face it, this movie was never going to be like one of those. This movie takes place in the "real world" but every now and then we will depart from that world and enters the children's' imagination. With the way they format this story, it could only really work if there could be both a magical and practical explanation for the events that transpire. That way it could be left up to audience's interpretation what was real and what was fake. Sadly "Come Away" gives conclusions that only makes sense if magic was involved. It is the typical, "a proper lady doesn't use their imagination" type of story. The snooty upper class look down upon Alice and Peter for them going off and playing. What they do is most unorthodox, and they do not approve. This trope has never worked for me, and the antagonists of this movie aren't over the top enough to be funny or human enough to be relatable. The child actors do a fine job, for the most part. There are a couple scenes that it is clear that they are child actors. But for a movie that has to rely so heavily on their performances they do a good enough job. There was potential for this film, but as is, you are better off using your imagination to make up a better movie.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsDon’t waste your time. It was dreary, didn’t really explain anything. The cinematography was pretty and the children were terrific actors - actually much better than Angelina. However, as the credits rolled, instead of a feeling of awe, I was left with a feeling of “meh”. Kids will find it boring, the subjects (death, alcoholism, gambling, debt) are really not kid-friendly.. If you want it as background noise it’s perfect, but spending time actually watching it is pointless.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis movie stinks. If I could give it zero stars I would. It has absolutely no redeeming qualities.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsSimultaneous fare to Benh Zeitlin’s “Wendy” but more family friendly under generically narrowed nature in piqued attempt to deconstruct the genre uneventfully albeit the heartened storytelling touch that helped avoid squandering the unique take of analytically blending classic fairy tales. (B-)
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI love fantasy films, Peter Pan and Alice in wonderland. This film however, left me bored, disinterested and confused not worth the watch.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis movie was a disappointment at each turn. Such potential wasted. A great cast, so much inspiration to draw from, and some interesting twists, but sadly none of the twists were followed through. Too much tragedy and too little resolution. My 12 year old lover of drama and make believe, hated it. Having the father’s hand crushed and Alice drinking alcohol before a “wonderland” type experience. Yuk!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsNot my kind of show. It's hammy, none of the characters are developed, none of the songs memorable and the subject matter, although based upon real events, doesn't merit a happy clappy musical. IMHO very very average.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis film was really good I enjoyed the story side to it and there are a lot of talented actors and actresses in it. I never knew about this film with Angelina Jolie in it. 👍🏽💕
