This is one of the better war movies I've watched. It was filled with action right from the start. It seemed very realistic and for those who fought in the battle it gives you a vivid idea of the odds against them and the courage it took to survive the battle. It is one of my favorite movies about the Vietnam War.

One of the best Vietnam war movies ever, full of emotions and great action

After i have seen the movie i checked on Wikipedia: the movie was done in Queensland, Austraila in woods completely different from monsonic jungle. So "well done" by the actors, but "crap" for the location.

I don't normally bother with movie reviews but this particular movie is a must-see for anyone interested in seeing the reality of battles fought in Vietnam. I had to put in my two cents on this one as I think the current rating scores are drastically lower than the experience that is watching this film deserves.

Very perspective and graphic film of the Vietnam war.

Action packed from beginning to end. The movie brought you into the battle from the beginning enabling me to relate to the decisions and action. Well worth watching as I am a history buff surrounding strategic battles such as this one.

The Diggers fought in the Vietnam war too, and on the right side!
  • Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars
If you want to watch a possibly somewhat realistic representation of this battle including periods of boredom interspaced with intense repetitive gunfire, colloquial small talk and a chaotic yet meandering plot, it's fine and likely accurate to how it felt when it happened. However it doesn't make for good viewing. This movie like many Australian productions suffers from multiple high school drama student errors from failing to do a proper editors cut and remove many overproduced scenes that add nothing to the story except runtime, to filming in an obviously non-authentic location where they rely on rain and fog machines to try and cover up the vastly different vegetation. Great potential, poor execution.

Early conflict in Vietnam from the perspective of the Australian army. True story with excellent filming and acting.
