Danny Collins
audience Reviews
, 73% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNice movie, felt like the end was a bit rushed though.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsThis is a nice and sweet story well conducted and well acted. One of the best performances of Al Pacino.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIt’s a touching story about redemption and second chances, making it an enjoyable watch for those who appreciate character-driven narratives.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI am always curious to see how Pacino delivers in a role that was really not intended for a man of his acting stature. This flick is enjoyable but nothing to ogle over....decent background kind of flick and apparently Pacino used to sing a Ryan Adams tune non-stop on the set.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsAn entertaing and endearing movie about growing up and moving on. Pacino is back on form here, in a role he has been perfectly cast in.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt's a different role and character for Al Pacino from what the audience got used to, but it still seems as though he was born for it, and this mainly has to do with the fact that his character in Danny Collins is a lot like him in real life. So we're left here with a Pacino movie in appearance and in essence. Of course, there's an all-around great cast next to Pacino and all of them seem to have chemistry with him as well as together. The viewer is also treated to some good comedy and great music, especially from John Lennon's works. All this redeems the slightly mawkish and predictable plot.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsDefinitely more entertaining just better than Manglehorn and the Humbling, all look alike overall.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNot everything about Danny Collins works. A lot of the dramatic elements fall a little flat, but it is a very enjoyable movie overall. It's fun, can be pretty funny, and is overall pretty heartfelt. It's pretty dependent on the great cast - particularly Pacino.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsJust finished watching. I really don't know how I feel about this flick, but I couldn't stop watching it. So I guess it's pretty ok. It's Hollywood schmaltz (Yiddish for overly sentimental). Al Pacino - great. Annette Bening - so so with a wooden performance. Supporting cast - pretty good, not great. Watch it and enjoy and you'll forget the movie in an hour. But watch it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsDanny Collins is better than I expected. The performances are great and it’s a good son father relationship movie in about family. Movie also showed some of the benefits of celebrity status and how they are treated better than every day folks. It just touches the surface but I wish it went more in depth with that subject. Parts of the movie are a little melodramatic in a few slow spots but overall I enjoyed the film especially with an all-star cast.
