This isn't outright scary and that's ok. There are no surprises. That didn't prevent me from wanting to see how each murderer met his grimely demise.

I am not a fan of horror flicks but this one delivers with twists and unexpected turns. Excellent acting...Charles Dunning should have won an Oscar for his awesome performance...

I'm trying to figure out how this 1981 horror movie got a R rating and I was well thought I was watching a scarecrow horror movie. Charles Durning as the vigilante mail man šŸ˜‚. I will admit I do like Larry Drake as a actor especially in DarkMan . I was expecting Scarecrow chaos and basically got well I think the Scarecrow is getting revege . 3.4/10 it's a bad movie with a interesting plot that could of had so much more potential but was a letdown . Come on RT 64% fan score stop tripping .

I was 8 when this originally aired on CBS. It was the first horror movie I ever watched - and it wasn't the last. While it certainly isn't as scary as it was in 1981, it's still a great movie with some excellent performances. The grain silo scene still gives me chills.

Great 80's cover art! Cool to see Dr.Giggles in this. The beginning is so good i was completely captivated but then I was just bored the rest of the movie. šŸæ1/2

I had never heard of this film... and I thought I had watched every 80's horror flick made, so I took the plunge last night. The acting and plot were sub-par, (at best), and no surprises or jump scares to brighten the dull plot. Yes, it passed the time - but that's about it.

I quite enjoyed this little movie. It's very well acted by pretty much everyone involved, with some interesting messages and overall great spooky tensions. It deals with how mentally challenged folks can get pre-conceived as bad and dangerous even if they're actually sweet, and for a movie from 1981 this message feels very smart and ahead of its time. Also, everyone involved has clear motivations and is a somewhat interesting character. I'm usually a gorehound, but I didn't mind the lack of brutality in the movie. It lets you imagine it for yourself while still having creative ends for the characters, and seems more interesting than just a scarecrow walking around stabbing people like one might expect. I do think it should have shown the scarecrow a bit more along with the cool deaths, since the scarecrow costume is very creepy and it is what people probably signed up for, but I still don't really mind. Also the characters made some dumb decisions, but they weren't as dumb as many horror characters I've seen, and ultimately I again didn't really mind. Check this movie out, I'd say it's pretty great!
