Dave Made a Maze

I had never felt happier to be approaching senior citizenship.

This is a fun ride.

If you're looking for something different - and mean it when you say so - Dave Made a Maze is a joy.

Although it's a scrappy indie, the movie has something in common with many platinum-plated CGI blockbusters: The visuals are as strong as the script is feeble.

While the dramatic underpinnings could have used more work, the labyrinth that's the focus of "Dave Made a Maze" is truly an amazingly inventive sight to behold.

The charmingly offbeat turns seriously strange and then veers into the absurd - in a good way.

A weird little gem. The kind of horror flick that isn't great-great, but is simultaneously so of its era and so individual in its vision that it will get brought up later in lists...

The maze is a wondrous creation, somehow coming across very makeshift and tangible, yet also wondrous and vast

Utterly brimming with creativity.

This was the best film I saw all festival.
