This could've easily been one of the better cult and trashy 80s movies ever, specially because the first 15 minutes are very promising; unfortunately, the movie is more worried in focussing on irrelevant romantic drama subplot between the main characters that literally nobody cares; by the time the subway sequence kicks in and we are back into fine and solid gore and action, the movie ends out of nowhere.

One of my favourite rat horror films that I've seen! I watched this film after I finished Ben (1972), and I enjoyed Deadly Eyes very well! Robert Clouse's direction, Anthony Guefen's score, Sam Groom's performance and the plot was my favourite, while the screenplay was an average. Even though this film is loosely based on The Rats novel, I'll give this film 4 out of 5 stars and an "A-" grade.

Not since they cut the tall grass in the empty field across from my house, have I been this terrified of rats. Scream as they hunt teenagers. Run as they set siege to a city. Rub your wrist with concern as they imitate slap bracelets. Check out our podcast to hear more: https://anchor.fm/foundonshelfpod/episodes/Deadly-Eyes---1982-e1e7mi3

It's a silly little horror movie with giant killer rats, but it's loads of fun to see these things run around Toronto wreaking havoc.

not that bad, decent friday night flick with dogs on rat suits.

I enjoyed the parts about the rats but I despised seeing all these dumb stories about these idiots and their love lives

This is an horror movie with an uncreative, murky storyline using rats (about the size of big cats) as the evildoers.

Are you looking for a killer rat movie with dogs dressed as rats??? Then look no further then Deadly Eyes. While not the best horror film ever made, Deadly Eyes is a lot of fun to watch and I just loved all the different ways they portrayed the killer rats in the film from real, to puppets, to dogs in costume. This film is good fun and one of those horror films that is often forgotten.

When ripping off jaws with a premise so dopey, its slow pacing amounts to boredom not tension. Beyond this and its subplots that go nowhere, deadly Eyes delivers what you'd expect; dumb but gruesome fun in the Toronto subway line.
