Death of a Unicorn delivers a bold mix of black comedy and satirical horror, exposing the brutal greed of capitalism in a wild, bloody ride. The story is simple yet direct, filled with absurd humor and surprisingly tender moments between the leads. While the wealthy villains feel cartoonish and the film only scratches the surface of its deeper themes, it remains an energetic, heartfelt, and visually vibrant experience. Alex Scharfman shows promise in his directorial debut, using saturated colors, dynamic camera work, and playful editing to keep the tone lively, though pacing stumbles midway. Performances shine, especially from Paul Rudd’s charmingly naïve father and Jenna Ortega’s sharp, sarcastic daughter. Despite its flaws, Death of a Unicorn offers a rebellious and fun cinematic escape — perfect for fans of quirky, blood-soaked dark comedies.

Despite the stellar cast and unique storyline, it’s boring and way too drawn out. Rare miss by A24

Meh, it passed the time, cheesy with bad cgi. Kinda funny

This one ran out of steam by the halfway mark. It has a few funny, interesting, and disturbing perspectives on human nature, but it beat you over the head with these ideas.

I went into this movie knowing absolutely nothing I was originally planning on taking my toddler to see it before realizing it was rated R, but when I went I really enjoyed it, I was intrigued throughout the entire film, all the characters worked well together I highly recommend this to others!

This movie kinda reminded me of Cocaine Bear, but I enjoyed it a lot more. I truly dislike CGI animals, but I didn't mind it in Death of a Unicorn. Definitely worth a watch. I wish I had some powdered horn!

I loved it. Ortega nailed the gen z vibe, for one. Secondly , it's rare a movie surprises me but my mouth was agape for most of this movie. Some very funny lines and an actually original plot. Will Poulter was perfect. Well done.

Should be good with a cast like it has but it's just not. The acting is bad There's no chemistry between actors They aren't believable as a family The unicorns look as fake as a pretend unicorn The character who's the son is completely pointless. It is just an all round bad film

A gory unicorn revenge story with a satirical edge and a soft heart? Sounds wild. And it kind of is. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega keep things watchable, but the tone is all over the place. There’s fun to be had, but not quite enough magic in the execution.
