Izzard is a bold pick for Jekyll, but she’s stuck in a flat script, with little to lift it from the depths.

A fun, non compicated jaunt into the English countryside to see what is behind the closed and sometimes locked doors of societal position and standing. This isn't a blood feast, however, the fun of slashers is present in what isn't shown or said. Eddie Izzard delivers a tuned performance of intrigue into the character of Doctor Jekyll. Scott Chambers (Rob Stevenson) is naively brought in as our eyes. Lindsay Duncan is wonderful as a red herring evil. Found it enjoyable.

I think most critics didn't "get it". This is a far better movie than what I had read about. Eddie Izzard is perfect as Dr. Jekyll, both sincere and sinister. And I sensed a real chemistry between Ms. Izzard and her co-star Scott Chambers playing a hapless, desperate, and confused young man with a past. A great addition to gothic horror in general and Hammer productions in particular. Bravo to all involved!

Doctor Jekyll is a mediocre film that tries to innovate rather than rely on the classic story, but it fails to find the right narrative. The disappointing part is that it’s a film unworthy of Eddie Izzard's performance. Her acting is exquisite, despite the weak storyline.

Bloody Brilliant. Best movie of Suzy’s I have seen in a long time. Love the old horror Hammer films. Would love to see her in more!

A new spin on a classic story, well constructed and shot. Excellent cast in an atmospheric, sometimes unsettling narrative which is not shy when it comes to the darker aspects of it's storyline. Would have been great to have had bigger cinematic distribution

Really great watch! Loved the acting and chemistry brought to the table by Eddie and Scott. You can really see Rob's (Scott Chambers) character shift throughout the film. I was gripping the edge of my seat!

Very watchable and an atmospheric throw back to the iconic Hammer of the past. Primarily a 2 hander cast with some great chemistry between Eddie Izard and Scott Chambers throughout. A steady build to the climactic heart breaking ending. Who can stop Hyde!
