Casey Affleck could read the phone book and be captivating and he helps bring to life the story of Donnie Emerson and his brother Joe who get discovered after they made a record 30 years prior. It's about family and love and despite being a touch formulaic, it's the good kind! Upbeat mostly, but the 3rd act takes a couple turns it just doesn't need from a storytelling standpoint. Final Score: 7.8/10

Slower paced film about a real life story that captures the challenges of having unrealized dreams, powered by consistently strong acting performances and great original music.

This was a great movie. Anything with Casey Affleck seems to turn out right!

Well made💯👌, a definite must see film. I want to be their newest fan, just from watching it. My favorite part, was seeing their family dynamic. They really captured the love each family member has, not just what made these incredible FAR TOO UNDERRATED SONGS. We definitely need more family's like the Emerson's. Movie also made you feel like an insider to the motivation of the music. Really enjoyed the building the music was made in as well. Definitely captured the furnishings from that period of time. All around great story, and well displayed for an outsider to not just understand and feel the Love as well.

I am a musician and played as a teenager. Now I'm an adult. I also love music. Despite how I should be a perfect audience for this movies, it was embarrassingly horrible.
