Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction

Ehrengard: The Art of Seduction is a very confusing and anger-inducing movie that is very problematic and annoying.

Further, for a film whose title is the name of the woman of Casotte's desire, one might think that more of the story would involve the titular character, but save for the last quarter of the film, Ehrengard has very little to do or say in the film.

Ehrengard is a charming romantic fairy tale that’s perfectly light and breezy if you take it as the farce that it is and aren’t looking for some kind of serious revisionist feminist fairy tale.

This looks to be a fantasy romantic period drama, but unfortunately contains many of the problematic misogynistic attitudes and behaviors that no longer have a place in society, unless they’re being used as commentary or cautionary tale.

It’s wonderfully well-crafted and combines romance, humor, and intrigue so well that you will want to watch this film over again.
