For a film based on a kid's hero show from the 1970's, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl left me wishing there was more. (Hint: Shazam, also based on a kid's hero show form the 1970's, & was a smash hit.) EW&DG takes its story seriously, but it is first and foremost a comedy. Ther effects are also top notch, but are saved up until actually needed. The only reason I don't give this a full 5 stars is that the film is only 81 minutes long, and it feels like it, although it has the glitzy look of a full movie.

First issue, it's more "Mystery Men" then Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Second, grant you there was some unintentional laughs don't make it a comedy. It's like redoing Adam West's "Batman" as a "Naked Gun" series, it doesn't work. First "Land of the Lost" now this? Didn't the makers learn nothing from goofy "Land of the Lost" failure? With this trend what's next? Taking a comedy series like "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters" and turning it into a horror movie? They turned "Archie" into a dire soap opera devoid of fun, anything is possible with these idiots who change everything but banks on Nostalgia. I mean FUCK!

Pretty much what you'd expect for the genre and premise. Silly, but reasonably well done for the genre.

I was SHOCKED when I saw this movie was available online. I recall the show from the 70s, and while they are remaking literally EVERYTHING, the original show was so campy, and shall we say, exploitative, that I couldn't possibly imagine anyone ever remaking it. But they did. And to be honest, while it isn't high art or anything, it wasn't bad. It has some funny moments, and there is a ton of self aware humor in there. That said, it still suffers from lack of production values and weak acting (although not as bad as the show). As a complete side note - I feel this is how you make a female-led movie. There is an actual character arc, and there is no need to point out who is good and who is bad based on gender. There isn't even a romantic sub-plot here, and it works well here.

Nothing ground breaking but well acted and fun. Yes, and after much turmoil the girls reconcile, kill the bad gal, and walk off into the sunset, like you didn't know that was going to happen

So much fun. A feel good buddy movie which mocks the commercialization of superhero franchises. I loved the witty writing and awesome burns. ( I must remember all of them) Grace Helbig as Electra Woman reminded me of Eliza Coupe and Dyna Girl played by Hannah Hart is just like Shannon Woodward. 2 non super powered superheroes, with a ton of moxy.

This was a good update to the original and I recommend watching it. Its also very funny and the two leads are perfect for their versions of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Just don't expect it to be like the original, this is totally a new EW and DG.

I have to say I was very impressed with this take on a 70's series that virtually no one will remember. Glad I tripped over this and even happier I watched it. Thanks.

A breath of fresh air; this movie gives me much hope for the genre again.

I just watched this movie and found it very enjoyable. I don't get all of the negative reviews, but to each their own. I recommend that people ignore the low rating and give this movie a chance.
