Epic Tails

The decent quality of the animation of this English-language French production is rather let down by some shockingly poor voice performances and a couple of ear-bleeding musical numbers.

The cinema I was in was almost full with under-sevens and their grownups; it was was silent but for munching, not one scene had them giggling in their booster seats.

This tale set against the myths of Ancient Greece is suitably exciting and epic. Epic Tails is a multilayered animated adventure -- quite literally -- for all the family.

Epic Tails should be called Epic Fails. It’s a dull and muddled misfire with a terrible message that bullies should be enabled. This animated film that’s set in ancient Greece has shallow Greek deities and generic main characters.

It might introduce a few children to Greek mythology, but that’s the only distinctive thing you can say for this animated film.
