While it may present woeful dialogue and some awful character development, "Escape Room" shows sparks of creativity leading to a somewhat immersive experience.

It's an interesting premise that started a whole new generation of puzzle games.

I really do think that this is a fantastic film. I think the camera angles were good and I think that the critics were wrong about this. I think that it is a fun movie with some creative aspects. I don't understand why people are saying they didn't like it because the movie made so much money in theaters, don't listen to the scores honestly check this film out. I think this film is worth watching. I don't think it's the greatest, and I think the ending sucks but overall it is definitely Created to make you want more and more

5 years later this it's 'Saw' meets 'Cube' very suspenseful and and intense involving a group of 5 people accepting an invitation to participate in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse in order to win $10,000 it's actually good and not complete January fodder aside from Logan Miller and Deborah Ann Woll the rest of the cast is pretty much unknown yet make you feel the frightening scenario of trying to escape from a living puzzle each room has its own unique set of features from heat to hypothermia to vertigo to having your mind play tricks on you and these people have to rely one their wits as well as their troubled pasts to make it through one is shy and timid but intelligent, the other is a puzzle master, one is a soldier recovering from PTSD, one is a down-on-his-luck loser, and one is a hard worker looking to keep his profession a lot of the clues seem obvious yet the writers keep you guessing through and through of what's right in front of our faces either these people follow the rules or die but can they also survive each other? it's funny what lessons we can take away from this film; human beings since the dawn of time have been fascinated with how far we're willing to go to great lengths to survive, we're intrigued by gladiator games, hangings etc. everything has been made safe, secure, guaranteed to keep us from saving ourselves, and doesn't test our limitations you can't live your life as an equation or as a science experiment, you can't contain your world forever, watching a system doesn't change it, and surviving is a choice there are even people out there willing to pay to see certain individuals' potential the ending is very much a giant puzzle piece in itself and might open the doorway for sequels heck, the game may be stepped up and may be unwinnable, not all the secrets can be revealed at once fear not, for this is actually a good film showing how deadly solving a human puzzle can be

The set design was cool. But the characters were kinda disappointing. I expected there was going to be more drama/strategy between them, like a room where they had to vote who got left behind or something. Also when some characters died, it didn't matter at all.

I really want the 1hr and 40min of my life back. Dont waste your time on this pathetic plot of a movie. Your time is better spent running into a wall. Its just a jagged knock off of a saw movie. Senseless killing for no rhyme or reason, with hint of a sequel (spoiler, which there won't be because of how god awful this movie really is).
