For those who know me best, they know how much I love the Evil Dead franchise and how excited I was for this entry. This had to be my favorite of the series. It was absolutely brutal. This one has entered my top 5 horror movies of all time

Se me hace demasiado bien la idea de que tú madre sea la mala de la historia

Estava com muita esperança para esse filme, mas é bem decepcionante, pelo menos é útil pra deixar de fundo.

I hope they do a storyline like the original series of movies, the first is straight up horror, the next will be hilarious. Maybe the chick who survived this movie will be the new Ash ?

I think this movie would have been above average if they removed "Evil Dead" from the title and the beginning and end scenes from the movie entirely. It is a mediocre plot with great good, though weighed down by the association with the Evil Dead series. Loved the call backs to the original(s), but it just wasn't enough.

A just entry into the Evil Dead ranks. Gorgeous cinematography from the start, superb acting across the board, a new, fresh start that still honours the original and disgustingly brilliant gore. The 'final boss' deadite is excitingly disturbing and fans of the original have plenty of Easter eggs to chew on.

    It wasn't that scary.

Terrible acting. Seemed cheesy, not in the good sense of the older movies. Pretty much sums up movies these days.

I felt like this film was missing that signature comedy aspect that the original Evil Dead Franchise is known for. Yet again, a filmmaker tried to take this franchise down a different rabbit hole and made it too serious. It stole from other films which didn't make sense at all (ie. The Shining elevator scene). And instead of pushing a solid narrative they tried pushing an ideology instead. It was disappointing and overrated. The only thing it had going for it was the gore and the performances from the actors. This films success was reliant on the laurels of the original franchise's cult following. If this film had a completely different name it would not have been as successful.

As somewhat of an aficionado of horror. This was the worst thing I've ever seen.
