Yeah, this one's definitely not for me. It got a low-budget look, in a bad way, it's dry, and honestly, it's neither funny nor heartwarming like the reviews say. Just didn't click.

Cuando se empezó a conocer esta película leí mucho que Kaurismaki hace cine de perdedores y no lo entendía hasta este momento, que hermosa historia, que personajes con tanta mala suerte, con dificultades, con desdicha, con tristeza, con mucha soledad y que entre todo eso son capaces de encontrar el amor, de ver una luz entre tanta oscuridad, de ser catalizador de cambio el uno para el otro, los personajes (así como la trama misma) se ven simples y planos pero son muy profundos y carismáticos. Una película que con mucha delicadeza es capaz de tocarte el corazón.

I get the idea and the formal weirdness but it fails to be more than a simple exercise

Yes, there is such a thing as a Finnish romantic comedy. There’s a touch of darkness, a search for human connection, and deadpan humor all wrapped up into an uplifting film.

I love Aki Kaurismaki's quirky style, movie is both funny and touching.

One of my favorite Finnish movies ever made. It can be difficult for people not from the Nordics or Eastern Europe to understand it, but if you do it’s a masterpiece.

Thought this was going to give Worst Person in the World vibes but instead it gave low budget / sad Wes Anderson. Was very underwhelming and left Abby and I puzzled. Had glimmers of being good but never made it there.

Many people didnt like the slower pace of this movie and its sadder atmosphere, I personally really liked it. It was a very sweet and well done simple and subtle love story between two sad people and it was very well portrayed. It had simple but beautiful cinamatography and was a lovely watch.

For me there wasn't enough there there.

Good distraction, with good acting, in a relatively short movie. Watched on the plane, so it was perfect for that.
