Still has some glaring problems like its predecessor (Rowling's villains are all a bit too similar) but I also think the movie is a bit misunderstood on the whole. It does seem to make a serious attempt to reckon with evil (generic as it may be depicted here) and I find that admirable for a major Hollywood franchise.

While less good than other harry potter and fantastic beasts movies, it's still pretty entertaining

i always wondered why I hadn't watched the second fantastic beasts movie (I'd fell asleep about 10 minutes through the first time watching in 2018) because I loved the first one. then I realised about 25 minutes through that I hadn't watched it before without falling asleep because it is utterly boring. I couldn't sit still through the whole movie. I couldn't even watch it all because I found myself daydreaming throughout it because of how bored I was.

As soon as you murder a small child, I'm not interested anymore.
