“The feast of the Seven Fishes” has become my all-time favorite Christmas movie because it beautifully captures a tradition so close to my heart. Growing up in an Italian American family, the Feast of the Seven Fishes was a cornerstone of our holiday season—a night filled with love, laughter, and incredible food. Over the years, our celebration has evolved: the location changes, some dishes have been updated, and sadly, some loved ones are no longer with us. Yet, watching this film brings me back to my childhood at my Nannie’s house, where those traditions were first etched into my soul. The movie offers a poignant glimpse into a world that feels deeply familiar and cherished. Even though our family still celebrates Seven Fishes with gusto, I can’t help but miss the magic of those early days. I highly recommend this film to anyone—it’s a heartfelt tribute to family, tradition, and the moments that define the holiday spirit.

The movie ‘Feast of The Seven Fishes' takes me on a nostalgic journey back to Christmases past. As an Italian American, I find a deep connection with the characters, whose experiences resonate with those of my own friends and family. Each scene, especially those showcasing the visually stunning and nostalgic food, acts as a portal to a simpler time, offering a vivid snapshot of our Italian American heritage. Christmas Eve is for many of us is the craziest night of the year, and the night I look forward to more than any other on the calendar year. This film embodies the storied history of the food, but also the Italian spirit of generosity, highlighting our culture's inherent inclusiveness and warmth towards others. Since its release, it has been a source of inspiration for my family, especially when we needed it most. It has the power to envelop you in the holiday spirit. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful film as an instant classic, one that not only entertains but also inspires you to embrace the holiday season with an Italian touch!

Similar to other immigrant/2nd Generation themed movies like My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but not quite as good. It's light hearted entertainment in a smart way. I could think of worse ways to pass the time.

This film is super witty, but not in a corny way. The writing is very well-crafted, and I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging the story turned out to be. The dialogue was sharp and clever. I thoroughly enjoyed the film from beginning to end.

I love the 1980s aesthetic. Much of the movie shot with a lot of action and dialogue happening within a small space create a genuine feeling of familial intimacy, or closeness. And the fact that all of this action is organized around a massive seafood boil makes this a win in my eyes. I will look forward to watching this movie next year and for many years to come.
