Even though it is predictable and not as emotionally affecting as it wants to be, Finding Dory is a fast-paced, entertaining and splendidly animated Pixar flick and continuation of Finding Nemo with a solid cast of characters (great voice acting as well) and nicely handled themes woven throughout.

(Gigglesnorts) Ok, NO spoilers. Tough... Lovely movie. Definitely more a kid movie than the original. Strange, but true: people applauded at the end. It's been a while since I've experienced that. The animation is superior to the original; that ACTION SCENE at the end!!!, and compared to the backgrounds (the kelp, the undertow... how to render the invisible visible!), the main characters look plastic-y. The young Dory is to die for (those EYES) and some secondary characters (Hank, the "septipus" πŸ™‚ is the new Scrat, and then there's Destiny and Bailey!!!) are more likeable than the main characters. Oh, and special mention for Fluke and Rudder; the pretty amazing, and occasionally foul-mouthed English (why?) sea lions. Apparently, I missed the post-credits scene*, where the Tank Gang from the previous film, still trapped in their plastic bags, manage to make their way to California, where they are promptly taken captive by volunteers from the Marine Life Institute (source: Wikipedia πŸ™‚ ). Somebody was tired πŸ™‚ The plot is Finding Nemo with an extra layer - but that doesn't bother at all. The Sigourney Weaver-joke is very funny and rumour has it, she was delighted to play it. There are the environmental references (thank God) like Dory being caught in plastic, the dead sea floor, sick sea creatures (much more prominent than in the first) which makes it A Film With A Message, albeit for the kids. The music is from a GREAT Thomas Newman in great form - reminiscences of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and SPECTRE abound. Obviously, money was no issue, and the end result is technically pretty much a master piece. Oh, and the end credits feature Sia who performs a pretty unforgettable erm... "Unforgettable". Wonder if Dory'll remember. PS: caught up with the post-credit scenes in the meantime. Obviously.

While I still do prefer Finding Nemo to Finding Dory, this film is still wildly enjoyable and entertaining. The entire cast give great, and the animation is stunning. The humor in this movie really works, I laughed out loud several times. Also, I find it crazy that we have Dory, (a fish) and Hank (an Octopus) commiting GTA before GTA 6. Wow. What an accomplishment. πŸ‘ That being said, this is where the movie becomes a little too nonsensical, enough for me to pause the movie and go: "What in the world?" Still, all in all, this movie is pretty good. B-Tier Pixar movie.

Finding Dory is a solid 3.5-star animated film that I found enjoyable. With its beautiful animation, heartfelt moments, and fun characters, it delivers an engaging underwater adventure. Dory's journey of self-discovery adds emotional depth, and the humor keeps things entertaining. While it doesn’t quite reach the magic of Finding Nemo, it still offers a charming and touching story worth watching.

Not as good as the 1st one. The animation is better but the pacing is very scattered. It goes from decent to frantic to slow.

Really great movie, the way how it builds upon the idea of the first movie, but with all these new elements is amazing. The way that they developed Dory as a character through this movie with the past and present all coming together, helping her on her journey was done perfectly, also the way that this movie makes you think its done and then it builds further without getting boring is something rarely happening. Amazing movie, loved it
