Frost

There really isn't all that much to recommend, with the lead characters never fleshed out and the narrative about as aimless as the GPS-less protagonists.

"Frost" is not only severely hobbled by the almost complete absence of drama and characterization, but is also delivered in relentless, claustrophobic, tiresome medium-to-close shots ...

An inert lead performance from Mantas Janciauskas gives the impression not of a man plunging into the very heart of darkness, but of a student who's made a very bad decision about how to spend his gap year.

Though the tediously long opening act spends much time allowing the viewer to get to know the two protagonists, it's quite remarkable really that by the time we reach the closing credits, we don't feel as though we know them at all.

Filmed rather flat and with little relief throughout its first part, and with something more strength, intensity and atmosphere as the protagonists enter the war zone. [Full review in Spanish]
