Ghost in the Shell
audience Reviews
, 51% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsEpic movie and such a shame it got bad publicity as a sequel would have been great. Love how Takeshi Kitano & Pilou Asbaek were part of the cast. Visually well done and Johansson did a great job as the lead role 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsIt's an excellent movie...
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is probably my favorite movie of all time.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsIf all you want is action and awesome special effects, okay. But the story you've already seen a thousand times, nothing new here, and so you already know what dialog and the plot is go...
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThere are some decent cyberpunk vibes throughout, but overall I must say it lacks the sophistication of the original. Much of the allure and mystic is lost, and what is left feels like a cold "shell" of the original. Over-explaining the plot and simultaneously simplifying it, is not a great recipe for a good movie.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI have seen far better, but also far worse movies. For an boring evening, when nothing else can be found, it's enough.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsRupert Sanders spends a lot of time on the visuals, both painstakingly recreating images from the '95 film and creating new ones . . . unfortunately everything else suffers, from the lackluster script to the lifeless performances this mostly seems like a missed opportunity.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWe loved it, all 3 of us, the plot makes more sense compared to the original anime. Scarlett Johansson was a good choice indeed, some scenes will stay forever in our imagination. Frankly I don't understand the negative reviews.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsHonestly I thought it was good but it's not, 1 hour is 46 minutes of ordering
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsI love it for what it is. Do I have problems with it here and there, yes. Did it ruin my viewing experience, no. Did it follow the source material more closely indeed it did as well as taking elements from the animated series Stand Alone Complex. Which I don't think was an overall great idea but I'm not a director.
