Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

A deliciously twisty remix of the classic British-style murder mystery, with a fabulous location and a group of suspects who all have motive and opportunity. Also like its predecessor, it has an all-star cast clearly enjoying themselves enormously.

Glass Onion is a perfect reminder that great art need not be serious. Sometimes, it’s just about having fun. If you look closely, even the Mona Lisa is smiling just a little.

Blanc is bland, and despite all its bells and whistles, so is the movie.

The twisty plot isn't quite as ingenious as Johnson's last one, but the writer-director has gone all-out to make everything in Glass Onion as big, broad, funny and colourful as Daniel Craig's southern drawl.

Glass Onion is saturated with enchanting moments and quick-witted dialogue, along with Janelle Monáe’s wonderful performance as Bron’s estranged best friend...

Johnson certainly delights in creating puzzling distractions, but even if his film is as deep as a layer of onion skin, it is immensely engaging. "Glass Onion" gently mocks its characters, which what makes it so enjoyable

As fanciful notions play out against implausible situations, it's hard to shake the feeling that it's a little too clever for its own good. That said, Glass Onion is an easy, entertaining, if increasingly convoluted, watch.

The protagonists may make you recoil in disgust but the film itself is ultimately plenty of fun.

Stands on its own as a great movie that continues what we love about the original without retreading or losing what made it so fresh.

Towards the end of the film, Blanc, annoyed and full of fervor, declares that it’s “all so dumb.” I couldn’t help but wonder if he, right there in that moment, could somehow read my mind.
