Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.

Monster effects for Godzy and Mothra are as cheesy as ever, while Mecha gets more hi-tech lensing. Still, helmer Masaaki Tezuka, who has made a few of these before, does an above-average job of pulling the disparate elements together.

Masaaki Tezuka directed this film and the last one, and they are the best in the era.

A dumb, empty popcorn movie that delivers on all of its promises, while boasting the best computer-generated effects of any Godzilla movie made up to that point.

The second film of what's dubbed the "Kiryu Series"... It's not as good as the first one.

This modern series is one that's improving with each entry, and all of them are big ol' heaps of rubber suit glee.
