Godzilla vs. Kong

Exactly the blunt, escapist dazzle you need in the middle of a pandemic.

It's exactly what you think it is, no more no less. It's a shame because there are elements of a more interesting movie here...

The film looked terrific. There is some imagery here that honestly took my breath away.

A distracting jumble that reduces the stakes of the movie's mighty showdown nearly to a vanishing point, and turns the title titans and their other colossal cohorts into the incredible shrinking monsters.

Vastly superior to 2019's muddy Godzilla: King of the Monsters...

It's just tricky to try to make something look convincingly state-of-the-art and gloriously cheesy at the same time... What's missing is the fleeting but genuine awe that Gareth Edwards conjured up in Godzilla...

It may be overstuffed and underexplained, but the sheer spectacle and fight scenes are great to watch.

Everything looks and sounds like you’d expect a two hundred million dollar production to be, but it lacks the vision and grit of Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ terrific SKULL ISLAND or the sense of scale in GODZILLA 2014.

Kong revealed that to prepare for the role and get in shape for his return to the silver screen, he took some boxing and surfing lessons while maintaining a strict diet of fish

Even though the humans are the sour mark on the overall film, Godzilla vs. Kong is still enjoyable...
