Greenland
audience Reviews
, 63% Audience Score- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWatching a Dodge Ram belch CO₂ across the wasteland like it’s a birthright—only in America could the apocalypse look like a commercial for fossil fuels. The only doomsday they’ll recognize is if a giant rock land on their porche. At least they got to move in on Greenland. Very important for them, I guess.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsSo many stupid plot holes in this film. Just go watch 2012 instead. It’s actually good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt was alright. Good enough for a movie night with the kids... If you're trying to get a feel of the movie, after watching the trailer, just think of the movie "2012" and instead of big government built luxury ships, think underground bunkers like the series The 100. There were several aspects of the movie I didn't like... There were several scenes where they seemed to throw in props for the actors to use, for no apparent reason and they were never seen again... Like the rifle the grandpa gave the father - where'd that go? Just stayed in the truck the whole time... I get that it was a symbolic gesture, an old war veteran giving the 'significant other' (can we still call him husband?) his personal rifle like handing over a torch of trust - but it's lost in effect because the weapon was never actually put to use.. Another is when the medical team at the FEMA camp gave them glucose pills..? Sorry, but they had an entire bag of medical supplies that they had already acquired - and a FEMA camp giving ONE family several MONTHS of supply is unheard of, especially with that many tents and god-knows how many people in the area needing assistance with unknown issues - you're not just gonna give away a huge chunk of your supplies to one family.... Another item that fits this pattern is the satellite phone given to John by Dale. Dale provides John with a satellite phone to maintain communication during their perilous journey. However, despite the potential significance of this device, it is never used or mentioned again in the film. Like I said before... Great movie for a movie night... If you can't find anything else to watch and this caught your eye as you were scrolling thru the options, just know it's a good contender, but it's more just a copy-cat of 2012, or San Andreas, without all the fluff.. I think they probably blew most of their budget on the costumes/uniforms and special effects and less on the writing of the script. A decent watch, with a decent cast, and a decent ending. I don't think it deserves a 6 because it wasn't bad or shoddy work... Mid-tier 7/10 from me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIt was a great movie
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt's OK but if a meteor was coming ANYWHERE near earth......they would know years in advance
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsIt was like watching someone play a bad video game. The world starts to collapse, but EVERY SINGLE THING they need is one tiny quest away. From the medicine, to the kidnapping, ,transportation, to MORE medicine, the plane ride... It didn't lean into a super cheesy/campy watch, or a visual effects monster. Even though it is packed full of known actors, the dialog and writing is smooth brained. I couldn't get into it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis Movie Was Amazing! This Movie Had My Heart Pumping Throughout The Whole Thing! Five Years After Its Release And I Belive That It Lives Up To Many Movies In 2025! I Recommend You Go Watch This Movie For Yourself!
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThere must be a weird reason to even make this story into a movie! I'm thinking this is what will happen to all of us in 2030 when the world comes to an end due to fake astroids hitting earth when it was Deep State's missile launchers sending hail of nuclear missiles down to earth to reset civilization. Only thing that would have saved this movie is to have Gerald Butler say the words, "This is Sparta!"
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsSome pretty dumb choices by the leads but this was a fun apocalyptic movie! Need more of these. Maybe with less dumb characters
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI recently watched the film Greenland, featuring Gerard Butler, and it was an exhilarating ride filled with action as it depicted a catastrophic meteor shower that threatens to obliterate not just the nation, but the entire globe. The plot highlights the government's focus on a select few individuals deemed essential for survival, all while neglecting those with health issues. What truly captivated me was the family's harrowing journey to reach safety, especially since their son has type one diabetes. Their struggle to access a secure location becomes a heart-pounding quest, complicated by the government's stringent measures that prevent them from gaining entry. Gerard Butler excels in these thrilling roles, and it's always a treat to see him in action-packed films like this one. Although they might not always perform well at the box office, they often find a successful audience on streaming platforms. The narrative was engaging and kept me hooked throughout. I found the casting to be refreshingly diverse, and the storyline was well-crafted. While it may not be flawless, it certainly provided enough entertainment to keep me invested, and I can see myself watching it again in the future. It’s one of those films that grabs your attention and makes you think, "This is really good!"
