Gunpowder Milkshake

In a landscape that remains dominated by the likes of Zen knucklehead John Wick, Sam and her gruesome gang are alright with me.

Tiresome stuff.

Perfectly serviceable, if not terribly original.

The film clearly sees the potential in its cast of talented women, but struggles to do right by them.

Gunpowder Milkshake is the emptiest style exercise in some while, and a film which has grasped at the opportunity of post-#MeToo feminism, to a degree that's practically hilarious, with grubby male fingers.

It has fist fights, car chases and bullet-ridden mayhem, most of which are empty, stand-alone spectacles and connected only by the film's overriding and embarrassingly dated formula.

Gunpowder Milkshake is most entertaining when Laurent Demianoff’s fight choreography takes precedence over any dialogue.

With so many stellar talents in this film, most of them don't get to showcase their talents until the end.

The film is not just one of the best ACTION FILMS of 2021, but just flat out one of the most entertaining. It’s fantastic tone, vibrancy, blood/guts & of course all of the fantastic ladies here. Karen Gillian owns this film.

Gunpowder Milkshake is gorgeous, a whole lot of a fun, and the kind of action-packed female driven film that I hope serves as an example for more like it to follow.
