This poster is terrible. It's not what it's advertised. It's a comedy mostly, with some great scary bits.

The basic premise of this horror movie is potentially very interesting, and there are some genuinely scary moments in the first 20 minutes or so, particularly for those of you who may have an aversion to swine. Unfortunately, the filmmakers have no idea where to go with the concept, and it quickly devolves into a ludicrous experience that becomes increasingly boring and - crime of crimes - not the least bit scary. That's such a shame, because I truly think the idea behind this film, admitting to your greatest fear and being punished for not being truthful, is rather fascinating, and there are a hundred interesting ways to go with it. But here we get bogged down in a preposterous plot involving the demonic spirits of deformed kids that doesn't make a lick of sense. Groening and Thomason give likable performances - I was particularly taken by Thomason, who has a nerdy Justin Timberlake-like quality. But they aren't given a decent script with which to work, and they get lost in the nonsense of it all. I often check out Rotten Tomatoes after I've made up my mind on a movie, and this somehow mustered a 67% approval rating, remarkably high for a movie of this kind. Apparently they're seeing something I'm not.

Good movie but not what I thought it was. I thought it was gonna be a slasher movie because the DVD cover makes it look like that

I can live with poor acting if the story is decent. But the plot made zero sense. I have no idea what the heck I just watched.

It's the ultimate party full of actual terror An invite to a Halloween party for college students Grace and Zoe goes viral It asks for the persons worst fear and saves the answers Once the party starts for the students little do they know their phobias are actually coming to life These entities are accidentally released tormenting invitees The movie's pacing is pretty lackluster, there's a lot of time sleuthing what's actually happening, and some of these digital effects are kinda photoshop level It would've been better if most if this wasn't filmed during the day and there's narrative beats you can sense coming from a mile away These two actors are likable though despite having to spout out bad dialogue But the movie has some insane ideas not to mention some nightmarish makeup effects working to its advantage Plus the creepiest portion is at the very end involving navigating dark corridors underneath the college This just could've been so much better in many respects

The acting was very cringey, there were some parts I felt like dragged on too long and the ending was meh.
