, 53% Audience Score- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsDon't waste a single minute on this film. Sounds good. Actually pants. Very slow, not scary, no dialogue; questions asked & not answered, half statements attempted then dropped - you are left hanging/guessing. Plot ok, but very poorly done. No proper resolution at the end - ambiguous endings are always the worst! Wish we'd read these reviews before we viewed.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsNew neighbours bring a young girl with whom Risboroughs character becomes fixated, having recently lost her own child. Slow with a late twist. Risborough's Northern Irish accent is impressive but the accents may prove challenging and you may need sub titles!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsCould've been a lot better, wasted potential with what could have been an amazing story of reincarnation. Still has entraining aspects to it.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsWhoever rated this more than a 3 star HAD to have gotten paid. This movie is slow, confusing, and doesn’t have a good plot until literally 10 minutes before the movie ends. And even then it’s still not clear. Terrible movie. I felt like my time was wasted
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsEven though it’s slow, it’s so eerie and mysterious that it kept me completely engaged til the end. Very unpredictable ending.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsStarted out slow but had a good turnaround! Definitely worth a watch!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsEnding a bit predictable but not quite on the mark. There was a twist, however no explanation for how Megam knew so much about their deceased daughter. That was left hanging and confusing. The endi g could have been done better.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsI was so very excited to watch this movie based upon its plot synopsis and the favorable critical reaction on Rotten Tomatoes. But, for the life of me, I just could not get into the groove of this one. I love a good, slow-paced movie, but this is borderline lethargic, and the first three-quarters quite frankly bordered on tedium for me. And the twist explanation at the end, while certainly containing a bit of dramatic weight, doesn't really hold up well when scrutinized. I'd love to get more specific, but I'm not a spoiler. The one thing that held my interest throughout was the performance of Riseborough, a critically acclaimed actress about whom I've heard wonderful things but have not had the opportunity to see much of her work. She is splendid here and finds depths of vulnerability and empathy in a character that could very easily have become obnoxiously compulsive. I wish I had responded as well to the movie overall as I did to her performance.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsHere Before has a twist I wasn't expecting. For most of it, the focus is the seemingly grief fuelled mental health of the main character, who comes to believe that the young daughter of her new neighbours is the reincarnation of her daughter. She's not. But there is a link. Strange to see many locations in and around Belfast that I know well.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely terrible movie! Overwhelming slow, no climax, no thrills, and the twist ending makes absolutely no sense!
