While preparing to go on vacation to his native Romania, Brussels based construction worker Stefan (Stefan Gota) meets Chinese-Belgian plant biologist Shuxiu (Liyo Gong) during one of his insomnia and 'car getting fixed at the garage' driven walks through the city. This is a big R Romantic film in its smallness, being all about small gestures, unspoken feelings and (urban) nature imagery. The lead characters are far from loners - especially Stefan meets and talks to a lot of people during his walks - but they are both somewhat reserved and don't mind being alone. They are both methodical and careful too. So, made for each other, but it will take them a while to get there and DeVos takes that time. Glad I saw this move in a small reprise program of the best movies of 2024.

Didn’t hate it but it was slow, boring and sad. Some cool AI scenery but there was no plot only that you should live life to the fullest and go after your dreams.

One of those movies that you watch and makes you think about it for a long time. Very little investment required as it’s decently short but they make every second count. Worth a watch.

This is perhaps the best film I’ve seen in a theater in a couple of years. I saw it twice the week it was in town, and was thoroughly enchanted both times. Talk about doing more with less. Absolutely pitch perfect, and the film makers never insult our intelligence by giving us more information than we nominally need to keep moving forward. It works almost like a classic silent film. Little quiet bombs of understanding would burst in my mind for weeks following this move. Exactly what cinema should do.

This is a fine movie with the best cinematography I have ever seen. The beauty is still vibrating in my spirit. Here is one of the rare art masterpieces that humanizes its viewers.
