High Ground
audience Reviews
, 86% Audience Score- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsI like the premise of this movie, but I'm sorry. The acting and writing didn't pull it off. In a word, cheesy
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsBetter than 90% of the movies at the Box offices !!!!
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsI seen all the high reviews for this movie, and thought it was going to be pretty decent . What I watched was a very average movie at best. I couldn't get into any of the characters. They were just so bland. I have seen too many good movies to sit and waste my time with movies like this. The bad guys were also a joke. Avoid this movie.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsThis was really awful. Watched it on Prime Video, where it had a decent rating. Don’t fall for it. The dialogue is bad. The pace is slow. The characters make ridiculous decisions throughout the entire movie. I yelled at the screen during the whole movie. Henry Thomas and Jon Voight should have known better. I should have known better. I should have turned it off after the first five minutes. Bottom five of all of the movies I have ever seen.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsSo bad and so cliche-ish that I couldn't finish it - and I tried. Start with this: In the opening scene the guy is sitting by a fire. Two minutes later when the bad guys get there, there's no fire. On and on. As mentioned earlier, the indoor sets, town and characters are so bad as to be laughable. This movie is bad on so many levels. I think that bots (or relatives of the production) wrote the glowing reviews. Bad, bad. bad. I'm angry at myself for renting it. Some guy below wrote that it's Jon Voight's best movie. It's a smear on his career and shows how badly he must need money.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsThese user reviews are pure garbage. This is a painful movie to watch… if you make it through this movie, I’d be shocked.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI read the reviews before I decided to buy the movie at a ten dollar rate...In all the years that I've been adding to my collection this is the first time that I've rated a film. Jon Voights best film.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI read some of the reviews. Apparently no one who gave it a good rating actually watched it. One guy said it wasn't violent until halfway through. The opening scene involves 2 guts getting shot. I don't care about the violence part but why rate it if you didn't watch it? It's cheesy, The sets are sparsely furnished, the costumes are ok except for one of the main character's skimpy clothes on a cold day and the dialog is silly. It was barely watchable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThat was one of the best movies I have seen in 20 years. Good American storytelling with a background of solid Unity of our people and nation under God with a Biblical moral Rock as the foundation, I thought completely lost. This movie developed the relationships clearly as the movie progressed, giving context to every moment that followed as we were not only watching for the adventure that was coming, but the interactions of sincere intimacy and responsible care each individual in the small and intimate town, for the others. There was also a realistic gruffness and sardonic grit that inevitably inhabits the hearts of some people and those were represented as well. It was a setting of neighbors who were bound by a Unity this nation was built upon in its Origins and has been relentlessly attacked with communist revolutionary war to completely remove so there is disunity and Brokenness and mistrust and fear that replaces a sincere and deep love each for the other in responsible bonds which give us a natural and chosen desire to love our neighbors and to open our hearts to be loved by them in facing together the circumstances of life good and challenging. One of the most prolific warfronts attempting to remove this ethos from our people is movie making and it was so refreshing to see such a well done movie with the Dual dimensions of true relationships with Foundation of commandment-based character and that strength and perseverance of Neighbors United as an extended family to face great evil, was fantastic as they overcame evil men and their desire for only one thing, the satisfaction of their own Lust For power, Pleasure and pride. This great evil was overcome in the bonds of responsible loving relationship under God and it was awesome.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat casting, action part was however delayed and sort of punctured the thrill. Also feel Nathaniel should have had a bit more evil, overal, great watch for attentive audience.
