- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsLaughable of a fairytale movie.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe bones of an important and interesting story are there, shame it's a rather mundane effort and doesn't have the lasting impact it desires to have.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsWe love to see Nazi punks get their asses kicked. More than makes up for the movies technical flaws.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA mark of a good movie is how it will show 25 years in the future. Will it hold time? This movie manages to do that. I must say Singleton covers it from all angles, angry women, angry blacks, angry whites, assualt, racial preference, entitlement as Epps character and the great Larry Fishburne hates the notion of feeling being owed something and preaches you "must work to get what you want, there is no free lunch'. However the movie is still a little bit too preachy. Jpe Biden and his party lives off this baiting and his VP might be the first woman but is not the first minority! Sorry cackling hen Kamila; Charlie Curtis, VP 100 years ago under Hoover was half native American Indian from Kaw Nation.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSingleton's "Boyz in the Hood" is a very moving film, now, let's get down to business on this one... I remember one thing about this film, and that's that I had to stop making out with my boyfriend (we were in the 3rd row) because we were laughing so hard. The more drama this film threw at us, the harder we laughed. The more it preached, we couldn't breathe our sides were convulsing so hard with giggles. Even "Forrest Gump" could not provide that kind of distraction from us dry humping, but this one did. So, I would advise this film as a comedy-contraceptive for teens. I'm afraid to see this one now, because I feel like the synopsis is wholly what the news is showing everyone, and none of that is side splitting comedy. But, to a teenager from the 3rd row who knew it was all Hollywood, it was very funny.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsReminder of how it was when I went to school in the south
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA fair amount of that 'afterschool special' feel, but does transcend into some solid moments and points here and there. Especially by way of Rapaport and Fishburne.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThis was a great movie for its time. 1995 was a long time ago but things in America still have not changed. I was in my 3rd year of college when this movie came out and I remember thinking this movie was a bit extreme, but it accurately depicted the racism the country was seeing. Unfortunately there will always be hate and discrimination in this world(our current president proves this).
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsAged horribly. Corny as hell with some of the worst acting ever.
