HITPIG!

Directors David Feiss and Cinzia Angelini do know how to give the kids what they want, a caffeinated sugar high in animation form.

Beyond tapping into the underappreciated realm of leotard-based comedy, Hitpig offers near-zero surprises in its jokes and plot.

It has a lot of fun components and ideas but all feels very mediocre without enough laughs

The script … is thin on plot and heavy on incidental one-liners — enough of them not synced up to any character’s mouth to make one suspect someone was brought in to punch things up, which they fail to do.

Hitpig! (about a bounty hunter pig) is a messy and unimaginative animated film with absolutely no surprises and no clever comedy. This flaccid flop has too many shallow or annoying characters.

With an A-list cast and not much else going for it, Hitpig! feels destined to fall into the abyss of mediocre animated films.

Best enjoyed by the age bracket that still can’t comprehend full sentences, Hitpig! isn’t an awful movie, but just more mid-level, forgettable content for the kiddie grist mill.

This entertaining, original, slapstick-filled adventure—which is elevated by Sudeikis' comedic voice performance—is a treat for both kids and parents.

It’s a loud and manic farce that plays like they were making it up as they went along. “Hitpig!” is well-meaning but relentlessly chaotic.

Hitpig is so busy with action and jokes that those elements define the entirety of the movie's personality.
