Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1

A very old fashioned and brilliant opening chapter to Kevin Costner's passion project. I really hope and prey that we get the full 4 chapters that covers the birth of the wild west and the early settlers of that period told from all sides. The critics have ruined the film series' reputation. Do not listen to them. When we finally get a Chapter 2 go and support this at your cinemas or cinema will die. These are filmas that we need. Not John Wick or Marvel crap.

This is a film about feelings on the western frontier, female feelings in particular. Ugh. The story projects modern social constructs onto the past, disrespecting history. Very disappointing.

I just want to say, I loved this movie. I better get to see 2, 3 and 4. I just keep hearing reviews that it isn't that good. By critics that I won't name. For some reason either these critics don't like Kevin Costner or Westerns, but yet feel the need to comment. I will agree it's alittle long, but a story is being told. Several stories! The acting is exceptional. I get tired of seeing old movies remade. I am a female in my forties and I am a huge movie fan. Nothing better than going to see a movie on the big screen. I grew up poor and all we had were movies to watch and escape into. Kevin Costner is a truly great actor, trying to tell us about the old west in a different way. Let him have his time.

Too long and it needs more action for all the dialog

I appreciate the history and how this was about Utah which is a place I moved to recently but besides that the movie was super long I tried not to fall asleep a few times I really can't remember what happened maybe if it was a different setting it would be a better experience I will be looking at the second one when it comes out and I will try to watch this again but the first time I watch this it was really boring and long. for all the hype the movie was very drawn out and leaves you with a lot of unknowns by the end it was all just a buildup for the second movie I don't like when movies do that.

Really enjoyed this, don’t get the reviews that say it was slow. Multiple fight scenes and the whole movie is suspense as it’s not really going well for any of the characters. You do have to go into it understanding there are 3 movies after this so don’t expect everything to be wrapped up at the end of this movie, we are simply introduced to the characters and how they all have a connection to the town horizon, but so far separate stories. Great acting and cinematography. Look forward to the next Saga! I think with the test of time this will be a saga people look back on and it will seem better and better once everyone know where the characters go….really enjoyed this but watch it without any expectations, just a nice long story that is starting to be told.

I will start off by saying I'm a Kevin Costner fan and I thought Yellowstone was one of the best shows ever, I'm surprised that Horizon has so many negative reviews, I went into it not expecting much because of that and I was pleasantly surprised, I thought it was entertaining and left me wanting more, looking forward to the next installment.

So bad, just so bad. The cast was amazing but the last 15 minutes of videos showing what happens to the various story lines with no explanation. No chapter 2 available? Great acting that takes you nowhere. Just an awful waste of time.

I loved Chapter 1. The only disappointment is the fear ill never get to see the rest of the movies!! Please release Chapter 2!! Best Western since Unforgiven!! ❤️
