Hot Frosty

There's a sincere pleasure in slipping down the ludicrous slide that is Hot Frosty's premise, in which a hot, naive, but very sweet man is the perfect Christmas wish — for Kathy and for any of us who may need a bit of comfort from a cold, cold world.

Each new idea is worse than the last. And there’s nothing particularly snowman-y about Jack except he can’t get too warm or he’ll die, and he snacks on ice cubes.

With so-so performances and an immensely dumb conceit, this is snow Christmas classic. Still, it’s less naughty, more ice than we might have expected. 

this one plays like a porn movie if all the sex were removed and the ridiculous threadbare plot were fleshed out instead.

"Hot Frosty" is goofy and sweet and magical. It knows exactly who its audience is and gifts them with a perfectly cozy Capra-esque fantasy

It’s a sincerely stupid idea executed sincerely, with seemingly complete buy-in from all involved that yes, this is a movie about a snowman with abs. I’ll take that type of brain freeze, for now.

There is not a single character who is not a caricature, and Jerry Ciccoritti’s direction fully embraces the most ridiculous and implausible parts of its central fantasy. [Full review in Spanish

A charming film if you can put aside that the male romantic lead is, for all intents and purposes, a child

…leave your objectification anxiety at the door, as a thirst trap for desperate house-wives of all sexes, Hot Frosty passes muster as innocuous holiday fun, a product of the Netflix division making bland Hallmark movies with slightly saltier personnel.

This film is not good. Yet it somehow has enough charm to be slightly entertaining.
