House of Gucci
audience Reviews
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsSuperbly acted and gripping story. Well shot too. I'm gobsmacked that it received so little attention- Jared Leto should have been nominated and won best supporting actor- his portal was absolutely amazing! Lady Gaga was great too, so was Driver. Oh, and Pacino. Oh, and Irons, haha. This not getting any real academy awards shows everyone how meaningless academy awards are= shame on all of you bums! An easy addition to any collection and I knew nothing of the source material- totally engrossing.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA fascinating story. Beautifully filmed with an excellent cast. Nice to see Al Pacino back in a strong role again. Brave of Lady GaGa to play such an unpopular role.
- Rating: 1.5 out of 5 starsHouse of Gucci is a film that is burdened with too high expectations, because of the all-star cast, the legendary director, and the true story, full with intrigue, betrayal, and glamour. Yet, despite all this wealth of material, the final product feels curiously boring and stifled. While the story of the Gucci dynasty is surely fascinating, Ridley Scott’s clings so tightly to the realism and factual fidelity that it forgets to breathe. The result is a movie that trudges along, weighed down by its absolute reverence for the truth. With talented people like Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons,... one might expect something great. But this story ends up without soul. The film might be technically impressive, but in the end it looks and feels emotionally hollow.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsReally entertaining and interesting. The outfits and visualis look stunning. I really enjoyed the story, even if the story is quite exaggerated.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWhen i saw Lady Gaga was acting in it i though "ugh no!" then i saw Al Pacino was in it, so thought i would check it out, well, i loved it, and Lady Gaga did a phenomenal acting job, the only actor that let it all down to me personally was Jared Leto. Great movie, check it out!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAfter multiple viewings, I appreciate the actors, setting, clothes and screenplay more each time. Adam Driver is unrecognizable as Marizio Gucci, Lady Gaga shows depth and beauty, and Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino, along with Selma Hayek and Jared Leto live up to their legacies!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI contemplated watching this movie because I saw the trailer and wasn't thrilled how they portrait Paolo. They made him look like a stinky slob. This movie was a little personal. Paolo was my boss for a few years when I was in NY living on his and Jenny's estate in upstate NY. I was a horse manager to all the 100's of horses he wasted money on. I thought the movie was silly especially Paolo's script. He wasn't the smartest cookie in the box, but he wasn't a complete idiot either. I could tell you some things that would make your hair stand on end about them. BTW, they were wrong on how Paolo died, and it wasn't because he was poor, he had an illness.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsLady Gaga cosplaying to be Italian. Uff. Hard watch for sure.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI didn’t rush to see it initially but wished i had when i eventually saw it. Lady Gaga was perfect for the role and captured well what can happen to an established family when one woman “outsider” marries in and literally explodes it from the inside. Glossy yes, accurate, maybe, enjoyable, definitely.
