- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsHome is where you belong. Housekeeping for Beginners (Macedonian: Domaḱinstvo za početnici) is a 2023 drama film written, directed and edited by Goran Stolevski 🎥 Can’t recommend it. Meh, it passed the time. Sort of. 😕 Dita, who, despite never aspiring to be a mother, finds herself compelled to raise her girlfriend’s two daughters—Mia, a tiny troublemaker, and Vanesa, a rebellious teenager. As their individual wills clash, a heartwarming story unfolds about an unlikely family's struggle to stay together.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsJust another LBGTQ picture....could have been good, but it was TERRIBLE.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is one of my favourite films of the year. I loved the cast, the direction, the cinematography and the heart and soul of this film. Truly amazing performances and an invisible shooting crew. A real triumph and a reminder of how great small films can be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGritty. Powerful performances, a study in unconditional love
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsClose to a masterpiece showing so many layers, assets, and pitfalls of humanity.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI thought it was awful. I left after watching for an hour. Maybe I missed something in translation.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt was good but a bit lost culturally to USA viewers such as me, but I could get past it. That said, I would have liked some better character development for Toni and a few of the randoms living in the house.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsThis was a visceral rollercoaster. Real, tragic, full of empathy and beauty. I highly recommend.
