Hustlers remains of the most iconic movies in recent history.
Apparently all the negative reviews are from Nicki Minaj fans? LOL

Everybody was excellent but casting the Asian American was a wrong move. She acts mediocre, is not sexy, doesn’t look sweet, not innocent. Imagine casting A younger INNOCENT and fresh looking actress. Wrong move. Jennifer did a Great job

This movie was so FRUSTURATING!! It had the best trailer and the best beginning and had a lot of great actors and wowing celebrities!! I think that the plot and story line was so interesting and had so much potential to be something great. I was expecting them to be empowering and it to be crazy and it to be super action packed!! However instead, it was about the most boring and dissapointing ending I've ever seen. Still giving it 2 stars though because it had a lot of potential!

For 2019: Had no idea it was based on a true magazine article. The financial crisis hit a lot of people hard back in 2008. So many businesses lost a lot of profits while the stock market made more. So these exotic dancers felt the guys at Wall Street robbed them of their hard earned wages. The night clubs aren’t pulling in the big bucks, the women aren’t sharing tips, and the regular customers aren’t paying their usual spendings. The main focus is on Destiny whom is inspired by a fellow dancer called Ramona. J. Lo is excellent next to Constance Wu. Good supporting cast members next to Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, and Lili Reinhart. It was actually a lot deeper than I thought. There's some impressive audio mixing too. Strip clubs are like any other business in the adult industry. Plus these women have to make a living to support themselves and their loved ones. People will pay to enjoy themselves and Destiny and Ramona put together the ultimate side job to get back what they felt was owed. A lot of the wealthy Wall Street people can be very abusive in their power, their money, and taking advantage of the girls’ lifestyle. It’s also impressive that it’s directed by Lorene Scafaria, who has that Goodfellas element. Being that it’s based on a NY magazine article it’s rare to see a story like this told from their perspective. Sad to say Lizzo and Cardi B aren’t in the movie enough and the movie feels a tad overlong. But this film has the strength of a caper storyline, really good performances, bright vivid colors, and a deeper insight into this kind of adult entertainment. Is motherhood a mental illness? Is everyone themselves a hustler, let alone the entire country? We give the dances they throw the money. Life is a hustle in itself. Do we let people on higher status get away with what they do or should we still reap the benefits of what we deserve? Yes there’s a T&A element involved here but the movie still manages to be as hard-hitting with its subject matter showing its corruption. You can either be on these girls’ side or not. Overall this environment shows how shady people can be and how overboard it can go.

I could barely get through it. So many of her other movies are so much better. So much.

A promising premise and glitzy direction is better honed with two strong leads and a feminine lens on the typical New York crime caper but it does begin to lose its focus and punch towards the end.
