Immaculate
audience Reviews
, 58% Audience Score- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsA really solid movie despite being the exact same plot (different execution) as First Omen, which debuted around the same time. One half of the movie made me think deeply into the topic of immaculate conception. What if there was an immaculate conception? What if it turned out to be evil? Would Christians believe it did evil things for good, same as they believe god does evil for good? It became a very philosophical movie, which I appreciate, but the final act is more of a scare fest instead of deeper meaning, which is fine, but the questions I had, were a lot more interesting in my opinion. I do agree with ending of the film for this reason, and I had no idea that the director of "the Voyerurs" made this flick with Sydney also, and I thought the Voyeurs was underrated, this one is a lot smarter, and director Michael Mohan is easily the star of this. Sydney continues to be amazing, but the direction of the film is the star here. I did prefer the first 40 mins of this 90min film, but also found the last 10 mins to be very logical, and fulfilling. I like what they did. Thank you!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars**Review: ★★★★☆ – “Immaculate” Is a Divine Horror Surprise** *Immaculate* is the kind of horror film that creeps up on you—and then hits with full force. As a longtime fan of religious horror, I was immediately drawn in by the eerie convent setting and the slow-burning tension. The atmosphere is rich and beautifully composed, with every frame soaked in dread and reverence. Sydney Sweeney delivers a gripping performance, balancing innocence and resolve as things spiral into the grotesque. And make no mistake—this film doesn’t shy away from the brutal. It’s gory, disturbing, even foul at times, but never gratuitous. There’s purpose in the madness. The story kept me hooked from start to finish, and its final act is as shocking as it is satisfying. Visually striking, narratively bold, and thematically unsettling, *Immaculate* is everything a horror movie should be. A disturbing, stylish standout—and a very welcome surprise.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsYou begin by thinking this is Rosemary's Baby and there are also hints of The Omen about it, but in fact this is a new and very interesting (if appalling) idea. Good fare for a horror film then. Sidney Sweeney is great, but her character's rapid transformation from unworldly, devoted novice nun to John Wick is a little hard to believe. The last few seconds shocked me, although at first I thought they were driven entirely by the horrible treatment Sweeney's character had endured; after a little thought I realised it could have been an act of mercy. Ambiguous - and all the better for that.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starswell, it was scary at the beginning but after the explanation it was just boring.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars- Acting was immaculate ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀) - The story was really great but i feel that it could of had added more lore to the story. - The religious undertone was sutter which is good that the movie didn't rely on it like other religious horror film - Movie was short and sweet and good add to any horror enthusiast movie list ദ്ദി(ᵔᗜᵔ)
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis movie was stupid. I was not entertained at all. The plot of the movie was a repeat of several story lines, it was unoriginal, and the acting was poorly done. If it wasn't a low budget movie, it should have been. 1 hour and 29 minutes of my life that I can never get back.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsthe movie was alright, I won't say it's a bad movie
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI Watched this movie because I really enjoyed the original Rosemary's Baby and recently saw Apartment 7A which I enjoyed as well but not as much. The synopsis said this was along the same line. Watched the movie which in my opinion was more gory than scary and the ending.... so disappointing. I literally yelled at my t.v. "really? That's it?". The main actress was the only (no pun intended) saving grace.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsDespite its disturbing and ludicrous story, this movie was really enjoyable, and Sydney Sweeney was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend it for horror and drama fans!
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsWhile It may be too reliant on jump scares, It has an outstanding and bold performance by Sydney Sweeney and a unique and interesting plot that is effectively creepy and will have you on the edge of your seat which in the end makes the film worth a watch.
