, 93% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBrilliant film about a band of brothers, their story that created the music of the 70’s and an all star cast that Denny Tedesco once again (The Wrecking Crew movie) has woven into a funny and emotional ride that you won’t want to miss!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOnce again Mr. Tedesco uses his considerable skill as filmmaker and music aficionado, insider, cultural participant to describe the love of music and musicians and exposes the industry that exploded during the era that began as its predecessor began to change with the time. What comes through most however, is the love of musicians for music, each other, and the excellence that camaraderie brings. A great movie. It's all about the love done lovingly!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis is a beautiful movie about love and art--especially music of the 70's and 80's. Engaging, revealing, joyful. Even if you don't know the music. But a beautiful warm bath in those iconic 70's songs if you do. And a revealing look at art and artists. Highly recommended!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLoved this movie! Sound and editing were great. In-depth interviewing that did not flit around every 3 seconds - you got to know the band members, how they met and the amazing talent they all have. Loved that the names of people talking were shown each time and not just once at the beginning - because sometimes I forget who they are :) Great music, amazing history, huge talent and personalities! Don't miss this!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhat a documentary! Recommend for anyone who loves music…so much wow factor in this doc. Bravo!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsAnother great film from Denny Tedesco. The music of my youth brought into clear focus with a deep dive into these fabulous musicians. I have followed Lee Sklar for some time and have watched the rest of the guys countless times on TV while they played behind Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Carol King and other heros of the 70's. The film gives a good look at our lives then and now. Them, as performers, and us, as the audience. My only suggestion would be to add a bigger performance piece without interruption. Overall, a great and interesting movie. Highly recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis documentary skillfully captures a moment in music history that is a must-watch for anyone smitten with rock & roll. In the mid-70s and beyond, individuals such as Leland Sklar, Waddy Wachtel, Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and later Steve Postel emerged as pivotal studio and touring musicians but their stories were anything buy predictable. Their remarkable contributions were integral to the work of some of the most celebrated artists of our time, including Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Carol King, Keith Richards, Phil Collins, David Crosby, and many more. Watch it and mark my words you will be inspired!
