Inside Out 2
audience Reviews
, 95% Audience Score- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThe first Inside Out was Pixar’s best film in years, combining their trademark eye-popping animation, smart writing, unique concepts and ability to tell jokes that appeal to all ages in a way they hadn’t in years. The belated sequel, which was actually teased at the end of the original, picks up with lead human character Riley as she enters the awkwardness of teendom, bringing in a host of new emotions including embarrassment, envy, ennui and, most prominently, anxiety. It manages to capture much of the spirit and fun of the original, but there’s a lingering sense that the filmmakers weren’t sure which path to take with this one, so they decided to follow the same rough structure of the previous film. We learn many of the same lesson, witness many of the same conflicts, and even the climax and ultimate resolution are very similar. The new emotions are a mixed bag, since the film doesn’t always know what to do with them, and ennui really should be called indifference, but I guessed they really wanted a non-English language film in there somewhere. Outside of this, most of the gripes I have are minor. Its one of the better sequels Pixar has made, and after so many box office bombs and disappointments, its good they finally scored another big hit. It’ll never be held in as high a regard as the original, but its a tonne of fun regardless.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBetter than the first one! It is much interesting and fun!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars"Inside Out 2" is able to continue the story of its predecessor in a very satisfying and unique way. The filmmakers are able to channel the same level of imagination that was present in the first film while also introducing new characters and scenarios that expand its story and themes. Overall, it's both a fun time at the movies and a worthwhile reflection on human emotions.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsInside Out 2 does well as a sequel by introducing new characters and situations. However, the near perfection of the first film means it’s impossible to achieve this without breaking some consistency. As a major fan of the first one, this bothered me even if I understood and appreciated the underlying reasons. Still, Inside Out 2 is a great film that has the emotional depth one has come to expect from the studio. I would absolutely watch this again.

- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsInside out 2 is a masterpiece. It represents perfecly human puberty, like inside out 1, inside out 2 shows that our head, is not Just "Memories and fellings", its a lot more. my rating not is perfect, Just becauze Riley could have a lesbian crush on Valentina, in the way that people wanted, and how looked like. so think on that when making inside out 3, Walt Disney Company.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsInside Out 2 provides the same magical look as the original and adds the drama of Riley's new emotions as she enters puberty. Also like the original, this will hit on a different level for caregivers, especially those who have raised children or are in the thick of it. Pixar once again, has captured what would seem to be esoteric themes, like anxiety, and put them in a way that can be better understood for children and adults alike. Maya Thurman-Hawke's portrayal of Anxiety and Riley's panic attack hit close to home, and I can verify that it's pretty much like that. I can only hope that this provides a jumping-off point for young people to better explain the changes that are going on with them and helps tackle mental health challenges as they arise. This visual treat is outstanding and reminded me of the Pixar movies of old.
