Insidious: Chapter 3
audience Reviews
, 51% Audience Score- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsthank GOD it makes up for the failure of the 2nd movie even a decade later it's just as scary as the original movie if not that much better and there's more direct focus on character this time around Lin Shaye gets another chance to shine as Elise who we see her beginnings as a contact of the dead; she's saddened by the loss of her husband and is afraid of the oncoming death from a demon that awaits her in the future so she has stopped using her gift to explore the Further things change though when a girl, Quinn is being attacked by a malevolent spirit while trying to contact her own deceased mother this takes place before the Lambert incident but it's a scarier look into the humble beginnings of Elise and her encounters with the dark dead phantoms I got a few decent frights I'll admit jump-scares and clichés aside 'Insidious: Chapter 3' is better scare-fest fare
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsOooof....
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt was not as good as the first two Insidious movies, and I found it really boring. There were some scary moments, but it didn't match the first two.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsLin shaye is probably the saving grace of this film and is definitely the least interesting one out of the series but it's not to say it has a few scares.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsMeh. Idk if I'm only idiot having difficulties hearing the conversation then when screams at ear bursting levels ? Made for bad experience.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars“The darkest chapter goes back to the beginning.” This is crazier than the first two. Lin Shaye is a treat as always. Stefanie Scott was a gem, as always. 5/5 stars.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsCalling the 3rd entry 'the darkest chapter' is the perfect description for "Insidious: Chapter 3" as having writer Leigh Whannell back & now in the directors chair, was the kick the series needed after Chapter 2. Whannell clearly had the understanding to tackle this entry alone & for myself, he delivered the strongest entry in the long running franchise. Chapter 3 is the first prequel in the franchise, continuing the story of Elise (Lin Shaye), I couldn't take another story of the Lambert family & thankfully the side characters of Specs & Tucker are still in the background, as they don't work when having more to do like Chapter 2 & 4. Whannell taking the meaner route, for myself is perfect, from the violent looking plaster cast being smashed against a bed frame & The Man Who Can't Breathe, the series baddest antagonist, with great build up throughout before we get a full look. More importantly, Chapter 3 family relationship is the most believable it's been throughout the 5 entries.
- Rating: 3.5 out of 5 starsThis is probably my favourite out of the 3 main insidious movies. Most of the jump scares actually got me and weren't predictable like millions of other films.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI really liked the characters and actions of the actors
