Jagged Mind can’t sustain our interest...

It’s not a complicated movie by any means, but it’s one that inspires rich discussion about relationships, abuse, agency, manipulation, and yes, love — or at least a perversion of it. It’s more twisted than it is twisty.

Even without its paranormal elements, Jagged Mind is a powerful portrait of the dissociation that occurs when a person tries to justify the misbehavior of someone they love.

A film that’s peppered with pointless red herrings and details that distract from the narrative. It is easy to follow, but its relentless fragmented editing is disorienting at best and annoying at worst.

Overall, Jagged Mind is a fun watch for Pride Month and beyond that’s worth a sit-down for the compelling premise alone.

Supporters of queer filmmaking will be enthused to see not only a new genre story where the central conflict has nothing to do with sexuality issues, and the characters are layered and imperfect.

‘Jagged Mind’ is rich with both subtext and thrills.



While the female-driven cast and Little Haiti setting are refreshing, this film is ultimately a flawed attempt at a psychological thriller.

There's not enough material here to justify its admittedly brief 80-minute runtime, but Richardson-Sellers and Woodward make the journey worth it.

Jagged Mind is recycled streaming content that will give you a case of horrific déjà vu.
