- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWhile the movie navigates familiar themes of crime and redemption, its sincere approach and strong character development resonate deeply. “Jamesy Boy” serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of self-discovery.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsJamesy Boy was such a good movie. I've watched so many but this by far was one of my favorites. It was so sad to see how it was based off a real life scenario and how kids actually are in those situations every day. The movie was slightly confusing at first but made up for it as you got to explore the movie before. This movie is so emotional but so addictive to watch, I would watch it on repeat for days. I hope I find more movies like this.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI LIKE THE STORY ABOUT HOW JAMES TURNED HIS LIFE AROUND TO SOMETHING POSITIVE AND THE STORY IS FACT BASED BUT A LOT OF VIOLENCE NOT ALL TRUE TO ME.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsThe critics seemed a little rough on Jamsey boy I thought it to be a decent coming of age story about a boy he’s made some bad choices. The performances are good and the story flows pretty well going back and forth in time. I will agree the movie doesn’t offer many surprises and it’s pretty by the book but it’s still an enjoyable ride. Maybe this will prevent some kids from making the wrong choices.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsIt's a story about a sociopathic low-life. The problem with this type of film is the audience needs to have some sort of empathy or connection with the main character otherwise you tend to regard them with distain. Nick Love made that very mistake with Outlaw and in the end you don't give a monkeys what happens to them.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI loved this movie like it is amazing.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsA surprisingly solid story with a good performance from Spencer Rocco Lofranco, who captures and holds every frame he's in. It needed a bit more filmmaking prowess, moody cinematography, and stirring music like Moonlight to elevate it, but it's a solid effort all around.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsBad, bad, bad. Lofranco is a horrible actor, and should just go back to working for Abercrombie and Fitch.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsThis crime drama aspires to be inspirational but fails to make a good story great.
