Just not Kevin Smith's best work. And even George Carlin being in the movie couldn't save it

This movie is super cute and so sad. Honestly if a bunch of other directors had made it nobody would've judged it. But because Kevin Smith made it, it gets crap but I love it. The chemistry is beautiful. The difficulty and struggle but reward of being a father is done well.

More subdued than other Kevin Smith films, Jersey Girl still has all the charm.

    Good to watch on weekends

There's something funny about this movie, this is my third time watching it, and the other two I forgot almost everything about it, but I think everytime that is a nice movie, moving and funny, with out been trashy as the View Askew is known for.

One of the most underrated movies ever. Probably just because it didn't land with the usual Kevin Smith lad audience but didn't reach many of the people who would really love it. I'm not someone who goes back and rewatched movies every often, but this is one of my go-tos. Huge character development, romance, fun, a musical number, great humour, superb crudeness and really sweet resolution, with sneakily hidden depth and a superb cast. Go watch it!

LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 37 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez (whose character dies after giving birth to a baby girl)!!!!!!!!!!!! But in real life, they are married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very enjoyable film something different from Kevin Smiths filmography

Unfairly maligned. It's not perfect, but I would say it is easily Kevin's most mature film, and has great performances. George Carlin is perfect.

"Jersey Girl" is just a formulaic romantic comedy. However that does not mean the movie is bad. The performances are good for the most part. Being a huge fan of the late George Carlin, I think he did well in this movie as he has the other times he has worked with writer/director Kevin Smith. He gave the best performance in the movie. The performances are uniformly good. Not fantastic, but good. Raquel Castro did very well in her movie debut. With that being said, "Jersey Girl" suffers from a script that had no effort put into it and just follows the romantic comedy playbook. From the beginning it was obvious where the story would go. That is the reason why I cannot give "Jersey Girl" a higher rating. It is nothing we have not seen before in a romantic comedy.
