The film reminds us the good in humanity, but also the required mercy that is bestowed on each of us today. We can't rewrite our past, but we can shape a more loving future.

The lawyer's mission is to do everything possible to prevent this man from spending the rest of his life behind bars. The acting in this film is phenomenal, and it has garnered widespread acclaim from viewers. It's one of those films you can watch time and again, and each viewing offers the same emotional impact as the first. The casting team did an exceptional job assembling this talented ensemble, allowing us to accompany them on their harrowing journey. The screenplay is outstanding, and the director's vision effectively brings the characters and their experiences to life. The direction is incredibly tight, leaving little room for confusion. While there may be a few minor plot inconsistencies, they are insignificant enough not to detract from the overall experience. Instead, they leave you yearning for more. Destin Daniel Cretton is rapidly establishing himself as a remarkable director. I would be thrilled to see one of my scripts come to life under his guidance; he has a unique ability to construct compelling narratives and his direction is simply phenomenal. This film is a must-see, deserving all the accolades for its powerful storytelling and executed themes. I still can’t believe I discovered it on a streaming platform rather than in theaters, and I sincerely hope it gets a chance for a wide theatrical release in the future.
