Karate Kid: Legends

...Karate Kid: Legends offers little by way of innovation and plenty by way of giving the people what they want. It’s derivative, corny and, in its utterly predictable way, great fun.

Wax on, wax off. Eff on, eff off.

Though it holds back on the emotional punches and occasionally plays it safe with crowd-pleasers, Legends remains a respectful, heartfelt, and surprisingly fresh fusion of everything that’s made the franchise endure.

Karate Kid: Legends is actually an enjoyable little film.

..."Karate Kid: Legends” feels at times like four or five different movies being chopped-and-screwed together, albeit at an enjoyably fast pace, and with a minimum of narrative drag.

I love the Kung Fu Karate training and fight scenes, and the whole thing, and this is true of the series, is played with an air of wholesomeness that's fairly irresistible. I came out with a spring on my step and... I cried.

It’s a lighthearted and fun crowdpleaser with all of the elements that made the film series so popular. It's worth the trip with the family to the movies.

The nostalgia was there for the older audiences, the younger audiences enjoyed the karate and the spirit of things.

Putting aside the more obvious reality that Sony wanted a reliable summer moneymaker, Karate Kid: Legends justifies its existence by espousing the value of passing on your knowledge to others as a means of not only connection, but self-actualization.

While this film signposts where it is headed from the very beginning it is a fun enough ride to get there. Nostalgia mixes well with a heartfelt fun story.
